Accidents that unexpectedly interrupt the work process carry the potential for damage, injury - or even death.
Hazardous conditions also can cause loss of material or property or decrease a company’s production capability.

White_paper_thumbnailAccording to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 2013, more than 4,585 people died from workplace injuries, 50,000 die from illnesses caused by workplace chemical exposures and an additional 3 million suffer non-fatal injuries.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that in 2013 alone, a preliminary total of 717 fatal work injuries (172 in Illinois) occurred as a result of contact with objects and equipment. The leading causes of days away from work cases were contact with objects or equipment (60,430), overexertion and repetitive motion (47,190), and falls (24,260).

The cost of injuries, product damage, or loss negatively affects the economy by more than $192 billion annually. Developing and implementing a comprehensive safety/hazard communication program is essential to reducing injury risks and improving all phases of your manufacturing operations.
